Dee Bishop comes to Tates Creek after 5 years as Director of Bands at Murray High School in Murray, Kentucky. He has served as Associate Director of Bands at Union City High School in Union City, Tennessee and Director of Bands at Ripley High School in Ripley, TN. His bands have consistently received distinguished ratings in concert and marching bands on the local and state level. In addition to his teaching position at Murray High School, Mr. Bishop has served as guest conductor for area honor bands and as an adjudicator for marching and concert band festivals in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas.

Mr. Bishop is a graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans, LA with a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education. He has also received a Master of Music degree in trumpet performance from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.

Mr. Bishop holds membership in many professional music and educational associations including Music Educators National Conference, Tennessee Music Educators Association, National Band Association, Tennessee Bandmasters Association and Phi Kappa Phi Fraternity.
